See It To Be It | Oliver Hymans
V&A / V&A Up Next
Producer
This short film meets professional puppet maker Oliver Hymans at his studio at Little Angel Theatre, where he's Associate Director. Oliver is trained in marionette puppetry making, an ancient art form that was added to the Heritage Crafts Red List of Endangered Crafts in 2023 due to a shortage of people learning how to make marionette string puppets. Oliver is passionate about passing the skill of marionette puppetry down through the generations to keep it alive.
*See It To Be It is the V&A Up Next series where we meet artists and makers in their studio and find out what they do and how they do it.
